The Lafayette Public Library is debuting its new pedal-powered mobile library – the BiblioBike! This eco-friendly tricycle brings library resources in a new and exciting way to public venues in the community. As a new point of service engagement tool, it gives the library the agility to bring library services to places where locals tend to congregate, such as festivals, parades, playgrounds and other locations.

The BiblioBike is stocked with library resources such books, program information and library cards. Its onboard collection of materials and information can be tailored to fit the needs of any outreach opportunity and community event that the bike visits. Equipped with a Wi-Fi hotspot, it provides instant access to free ebooks, online resources and databases. Plus, the new mini-library on wheels promotes both literacy and physical fitness.
